Virgin Queens

Description

Our Virgin Queen Bees are carefully reared from selected stock and shipped shortly after emergence. Each queen is healthy, active, and ready to begin mating flights and establish a productive colony.

Virgin queens are an economical option for beekeepers creating mating nucs, making splits, or raising their own mated queens. Because these queens have not yet mated, they require favorable weather conditions and adequate drone populations to successfully complete mating flights before beginning to lay.

Virgin queens are not marked and are shipped with attendant bees when necessary to ensure safe transport.

Please note:

• Virgin queens are not laying queens and may take several weeks before eggs are present.
• Successful mating depends on weather conditions, drone availability, and proper colony management.
• Due to the many factors that influence successful mating after introduction, virgin queens are sold without a mating or laying guarantee.
• We recommend introducing virgin queens into queenless colonies or mating nucs using accepted beekeeping practices.

All queens are raised in North Alabama and produced with a focus on temperament, productivity, and colony health.
